Since january this year I haven’t posted anything on this blog. Posting anything in this less-than-userfriendly WordPress is like a chore to me. I am very prolific creating drawings and photos though. Follow me on instagram (namrevue) if you like to be up to date or find me on Twitter (Namrevue, marked as ‘sensitive’ content).
Here are a few random photos which might give you some idea what I’ve been up to:
low-key artnude photoshoots; exploring image vs reality (model posing on photos of said model); large life-size drawings/paintings and a model posing on it; adding something to the shape of a model.
Inspired by a broken statue
Recently I have been exploring photography as a means of capturing movement (of moving muses and of light writing, with long exposures), unusual shapes created by the body and sensual form/texture by directional light and deep shadows. This particular image is of course actually two shots combined, it’s her hand stuck there like this. I’ll experiment further with this idea of (a) separated hand(s) or other body parts, which feels logical to me after painting in oils the artwork below and the many body parts in my large drawings from life.
Bodymix photo edit
Exploration of what happens when body parts – combined while drawing from life creating an image which is perhaps pleasing (have a look at my previous posts or on instagram: namrevue) – are captured in photos and combined in a seemingly realistic way.
Life drawing environment for a very inspiring muse
She posed for this large brush drawing and for body painting in the same style (her outline shifted sideways) and – as always – her poses in this setting were perfect.
Life size life drawing
Her poses were intentionally too short for me to finish them, resulting in this intuitive combination, finished by the two of us and her body prints and dripping paint.
NSFW figurative art starting here
I’m aiming for integration of my life model and the drawing I created in this photo.
